B Corp Certification

B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency. It looks at the full scope of a company’s operations—how it creates value for its workers, customers, community, and the environment. Certified B Corps are leaders in the movement for a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.

Get ready to certify on the new B Lab Standards V2.1

A new chapter is beginning for the B Corp community worldwide. In 2025, B Lab launched the new B Lab Standards V2.1, making B Corp Certification stronger, clearer, and better aligned with the kind of impact our world needs.

The new B Lab Standards V2.1 raise the bar for companies everywhere, creating a more consistent and credible certification process that reflects global sustainability and governance best practices.

What this means for your company

Starting in 2026, all companies certifying or recertifying as B Corps will transition to the new B Lab Standards V2.1.

  • Existing B Corps can begin submitting for certification on V2.1 from 1 February 2026.
  • New companies certifying for the first time will be able to submit from March 2026.

After 1 March 2026, B Lab will no longer accept new submissions on V1.6 of the standards.

How to prepare

The Certification Hub is your central resource for everything related to the new B Lab Standards V2.1:

  • Certification Requirements Guide
  • Examples of Evidence for each Impact Topic
  • Risk Tool Guidance
  • PSG1 & Legal Requirements resources

Your next step

If your company plans to certify in 2026, start preparing now. Log in to the B Impact Platform to complete the Risk Profile Tool and Assessment Setup before continuing with your Self-Assessment. These steps ensure that your company is being evaluated against the correct subrequirements for its context.

Deadline extended for B Corps: By 30 November 2025, your first step is to confirm whether your company is impacted by EU business-to-consumer (B2C) communications regulations (ECGT). Please log in to your B Impact account and indicate whether your company engages in B2C communications within the EU by following the steps provided on the platform.

Certification pricing

As B Corp Certification moves to an accredited third-party verification model, we are introducing an updated pricing structure that reflects the costs of this new assurance process. These changes reflect an improved certification product that is more robust, credible, and ECGT-compliant.

During this transition, B Lab aims to make the shift as smooth as possible for the community. Across a full certification cycle, any like-for-like increase for impacted companies will remain marginal.

Third-party auditing

All certifications under the new B Lab Standards V2.1 will include a third-party audit to verify company performance against B Lab’s requirements. Our global audit partners – To-Cert and SCS Global Services –  will begin auditing from February 2026.
