Nordic B Together 2026: The Nature of Business

9 September 2026, Copenhagen, Denmark (for B Corps only)

Conversations about ethical sourcing and climate goals are giving way to geopolitics and de-risking supply chains.

Is this bad news for the green transition? Has the nature of business shifted back to business as usual?

Or are separate agendas converging in a perfect storm where sustainability is taking centre stage in corporate strategy under a different name? And where understanding humans, nature and interdependence at a deeper level is needed to stay strongly rooted as a business?

PEOPLE // NATURE // BUSINESS // IMPACT // GOVERNANCE // RESILIENCE // HOPE // RELATIONS // INTERSPACE // IMPROVEMENT // IMAGINATION // ADVOCACY // GEOPOLITICS // CLIMATE // SUFFICIENCY // ACTIVISM // DANCE

Businesses that reduce their dependencies, strengthen their value chains and place people and planet at the heart of their business model are better equipped to withstand the shocks when the world is shaking. Are B Corps ready to seize the moment?

Nordic B Together is where we bring all B Corps across the Nordics together. This year it will take place in Copenhagen on 9 September 2026.

Join to explore these and many more topics in the greatest company of all: The Certified B Corporation™ – we would love to see you there!

B Lab Nordics team

Interdependence is Real and You Can Feel It

Because nature is all we have, the era of extraction must end – which part of nature do you depend on as a B Corp and as a human being?

    From Certification to Competitive Advantage

Turn your sustainability performance and your B Corp certification into business value – which new customers, suppliers or partners can the B seed help you sprout?

    Collective Action Still Speaks Louder

Co-create and join coalitions with solutions and campaigns that move the system – because silence is not the solution, so which change does your B Corp want to be vocal about?

    Regulatory Rehab

There may be backlash, and backlash to the backlash – because in today’s world sustainability equals geopolitics and vice versa –  find out what influences regulators and how you can anticipate their next step…

    Continuous Improvement

The Nordic B Together may just last one day, but the progress we plant and the community we nurture continues long after  – which B Corp would you like to grow your roots with?

Program 9 September

    8.30-9.00 // Arrival, Check-in and Breakfast

    9.00-9.30 // Opening the Circle

Meet your stakeholder and find your place in the B Corp community.

Join us as we open the circle for Nordic B Together 2026, letting some of the voices that you will meet during the day to introduce themselves.

9.20-9.30 // What is the Nature of Business?

Conversations about climate goals, ethical sourcing and CO2 reductions are giving way to geopolitics, re-risking supply chains and resilience.

Meet Gitte Rosholm from B Lab Nordics, as she introduces the theme for the second Nordic B Together.

9.30-9.55 // Earth is Now Our Only Shareholder

You probably know which B Corp said this… But what does it mean to only, ultimately, answer to Earth when running a business? And how does this freedom from other shareholder expectations translate into everyday life in Patagonia?

Meet Jenni Swadding and learn how Patagonia has implemented this governance across their organization and in their decisions, and how they listen to and work to benefit their most important stakeholder.

9.55-10.15 // The Nature of Business is Nature’s Business

Understanding the title of this session begins with recognizing interdependency, that as businesses, our activities cause harm to the very ecosystems that we depend entirely on to stay in business. From forests to wetlands, from oceans to lakes, and from meadow flowers to river trouts. Nature is business’ non-verbal stakeholder. How about we give her a voice when we make decisions that impact her?

Meet Tessa van Soest from B Lab Benelux and learn how B Lab created the Onboarding Nature Toolkit to share four practical models for B Corps to integrate nature deeper into the governance of their own organizations.

10.15-10.45 // Connect Over Coffee and Tea

10.45-11.15 // The Great Sustainability Reset

There is regulatory backlash. But also backlash to the backlash. Withdrawal symptoms? This is your regulatory rehab session.

The sustainability landscape may be uncertain, messy and short-term focused right now. But it teaches us one thing: you cannot deregulate geopolitics and evolving market expectations…

Meet Andreas Rasche from Copenhagen Business School and learn what the current regulatory landscape means for business and for B Corps. And why he believes we need to start with governance as well as broaden the narrative for sustainability.

11.15-12.30 // First Round of Sprout Sessions

These sessions are meant to make your B Corp better, more resilient, more vibrant, more visible, more grounded or even more certified! They are meant to make you sprout! Join your favourite session below.

Find Your Voice Between Greenwashing and Greenhushing

Don’t fall into the greenhushing doom loop. Learn what you can credibly say as a Certified B Corp, and how to communicate with pride and confidence about your impact, and leave well equipped with a brand new toolkit to help you clear your throat and find your voice in the sweet spot between saying too much and too little.

Meet Jonna Ekroos from Impact Agency Fabrik, Martin Kallur from Patagonia and Richard Collier from D_b Journey and join their discussion on how to build courageous brands who dare to have an edge in their communication – and the dilemmas faced when you break the silence.

    Learn From the V2 Frontrunners

Why do some companies go first? And how do B Corps continue to raise the bar for what it means to be a responsible business? If you plan to recertify on the new B Lab Standards anytime soon, don’t miss this chance to learn why and how from the first Nordic B Corps to certify on them. This is no small feat, since everything from the standards themselves to the processes have been uncharted territory, and now they are here to help make your hike through the jungle much easier!

Meet Lumene and Linda Ingolfsdottir from Once Upon Publishing that were among the first B Corps to recertify on the new standards.

    Energize Your Talent

Around 90% of Gen Zs and Millennials say that having purpose is important for their satisfaction at work. They will represent three out of four of your employees by 2023.

How do you build a shared mission that matters to them and puts a spring in their step on a Monday morning?

    Speakers TBA.

    Give Nature a Voice

Imagine if Nature as a stakeholder had a real place in your organization. Several Nordic B Corps are reimagining their governance to bring Nature’s voice into the room. In doing so, these organisations are using the Onboarding Nature Toolkit’s four different governance models to give Nature a voice and a seat at the table.

Meet Nille Skalts from Märk Cph – who have pre-tested toolkit models with Claus Nielsen, Sinatur Hotels and Trine-Lise Buestad-Kjeldsmark, Yroli, and learn how these two B Corps have welcomed nature as a stakeholder in their organization and what they are hearing it say.

Map Your Business Resilience in Three Dimensions

Most companies have one business model. One logic. One bottom line. The triple-layered business model canvas asks a sharper question: what does your business look like when you map the economic, environmental, and social layers at once, and where do they actually hold together?

Mathias Cöster and Carl-Johan Petri, authors of Hållbara Affärsmodeller (Sustainable Business Models) put the framework to the test with James Varkey from Icebug, equipping you with the tool to strengthen and refine your business’ value creation in three dimensions, not just one.

12.30-13.15 // Lunch in the Courtyard

13.15-14.00 // Why B Corps Don’t Just Mind Our Own Business

Meet some of the B Corps that seem to get a kick out of making waves far beyond their own operations. Why doesn’t Icebug stick to selling non-slippery outdoor shoes and challenge the entire Swedish forest industry and campaign for cooler vacations closer to home? Why does Merkur Andelskasse ask the EU Commission to protect Arctic against more oil and gas extraction, rather than just focus on selling loan.

Meet David Ekelund from Icebug and Charlotte Skovgaard from Merkur Andelskasse and learn why, when and how they speak up!

14.00-14.45 // Meeting In The Circle – and Introduction To Second Round of Sprout Sessions

15.15-16.00 // Second Round of Sprout Sessions

These sessions are meant to be a playground for your B Corp to engage in collective action, for example, on how to build the next B coalition together with Lars Frello from CleverCoffee – or even start your own! Plant the change that you want to see happen in the world. Or choose a more relaxing activity if you need this time to regenerate your energy. More information on the sessions will be announced in August.

Coffee and Tea on the Move

    16.00-16.30 // Closing the Circle

16.30-17.30 // Networking at the B Corp Bazaar!

Join this special space where every B Corp can present your product or service and hopefully bring home a new customer, supplier or collaboration partner. More info on how you can participate here (LINK)

    17.30-19.00 // Long Table Dinner

19.00-20.00 // Move in the Circle Between Past and Future

Every generation needs their own rebellion. Join us for a physical, playful, and intrinsically Nordic antidote to the crazy, accelerated, globalized, screen-based, individualistic cultural practices that shape our everyday lives in the anthropocene.
