Deep Dive: The Impact Topics of the B Lab Standards

The updated B Lab Standards set a clearer path for companies that want to lead with purpose and accountability. They consist of Foundation Requirements, the basics every company must have in place, and then go deeper into the concrete actions businesses are expected to take across 7 Impact Topics.

These Impact Topics reflect what matters most for a thriving, more just and regenerative economy. They cover how a company shows up for people, communities, and the planet – from governance to climate action, from workers’ rights to responsible lobbying.

Each company’s journey will look a little different depending on size, sector, and context. But the direction is the same for all: taking meaningful steps that help raise the standard for business and strengthen the B Corp movement in our region and beyond.

B Corps Demonstrate Path to Reduce Global Temperature Rise by 0.5°C as Business Leaders Mobilize at COP30

November 10th, 2025 – As world leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders gather in Belém, Brazil, for COP30, new research from B Lab reveals that scaling the current practices of Certified B Corporations across the economy could reduce global warming by 0.5°C by 2100, prevent 600,000 deaths from extreme heat, and lower extinction risk for thousands of species.

The new whitepaper, released today by B Lab, demonstrates that more than 10,000 B Corps are leading the way in adopting practices across circularity, environmental stewardship, and climate action, and achieving measurably better outcomes than their peers.

The B Corp Movement Set Sail for Folkemødet

Each June, the small island of Bornholm transforms into Denmark’s largest gathering for democracy, values, and political dialogue: Folkemødet. This year, the Nordic B Corp community showed up in a different way: By sea.

Together with B Corps, allies and friends, B Lab Nordics boarded the historic schooner Mira and sailed to Bornholm. We wanted to bring our message into the heart of national debate: that business can, and must, be a force for good.
