Brand Guidelines for certified B Corps

If you are a certified B Corp (or soon to be), these guidelines help you communicate clearly, credibly and consistently about being a B Corp.

Here you’ll find our recommendations for logo use, tone of voice, messaging, and how to tell your story responsibly.

Global Brand Book (2023)

The most recent Global Brand Book for the B Corp community was released in 2023. It brings together the core elements that help us communicate as one movement while leaving room for local expression. Inside, B Corps will find the shared narrative and mission, practical guidance on how to show and talk about certification, and examples from across the community.

The Brand Book includes:

  • Our collective story: the purpose of the movement and the values that guide it.
  • How to use the B Corp logo: approved versions, placement, and what to avoid.
  • How to announce your certification: suggested wording, typical do’s and don’ts, and examples from other B Corps.
  • Ongoing communication guidance: ways to talk about impact, progress, and recertification without overstating claims.
  • Color palettes and visual identity notes: to help your communication feel aligned with the wider community.
  • Inspiration from the movement: sample posts, campaign materials, and real-life communication from B Corps around the world.

This resource helps ensure that no matter where a B Corp is based, we show up with clarity and consistency and strengthen the recognition of the movement as a whole.

What’s New: Brand Guidance Updates in 2026 & New Logo Guidance

Starting in early 2026, B Corps certified under the new B Lab Standards (V2.1) will gain access to updated brand tools, including:

  • A revised B Corp Brand Book, with clarified guidance on logo use, tone of voice, and claims language.
  • A new library of pre-approved messaging, aligned with B Lab’s standards and compliant with the EU Empowering Consumers Directive for the Green Transition Directive (ECGT)
  • Logo and tagline lockups that reflect the updated certification model and help prevent misuse.
  • Updated positioning to clearly differentiate companies certified under the new standards.

Only companies certified under the new B Lab Standards will be eligible to use certain updated brand claims and assets.

If you are developing new print or packaging materials now that are intended to be in circulation from September 2026 onward, please do already reference the new long-lead guidance. These guidelines are specifically designed for materials entering the market after the ECGT implementation deadline. They will be part of the brand guidance updates coming in 2026.

For B Corps communicating with consumers in the EU, continuing to use previous brand guidelines and not recertifying under V2.1 by September 2026 may create compliance risks. B Lab strongly recommends that ECGT-impacted companies recertify by September 2026 and align with the updated Brand Book. Ultimately, it is up to each company to evaluate how to balance these risks and costs.

Why it matters to stay true to the B Corp brand guidelines

Staying true to the B Corp brand guidelines helps protect the credibility of the movement by ensuring that the logo and language are used in a way that reflects the rigor behind the certification. When all B Corps communicate consistently across markets and languages, the message stays clear and recognisable, making it easier for people to understand what the certification represents whether they encounter it in Stockholm, Copenhagen, or San Francisco. The guidelines also support legal compliance, especially in Europe where sustainability claims are increasingly regulated, and they help each company strengthen its own reputation by showing up as part of a community with high standards rather than as a standalone marketing effort. Ultimately, following the guidelines is a way of honoring the work behind becoming a B Corp and acknowledging the collective commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

How to talk about B Corps

The B Corp Voice

When you communicate about your certification, or the work you’re doing as part of this community, keep the tone open, welcoming, and grounded. We speak in a way that builds trust – clear, transparent, and rooted in real action. The idea is to make it easy for people to understand what B Corps stand for and to feel invited into the conversation.

Certified B Corporation™

Certified B Corporations, often called B Corps, are businesses that have gone through B Lab’s independent assessment and met B Lab’s standards across social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Always write it as “B Corp” (with a space). Avoid versions like “BCorp” or “B-Corp.”

The B Corp™ Movement

The B Corp movement brings together people and companies committed to using business in service of people and the planet. Across the world, B Corps are helping shift our economic system,  moving from models that benefit only a few toward ones that share value more fairly, from extraction to regeneration, and from individual success to collective wellbeing and interdependence.
